Great food, great, friendly people, locally owned, hometown atmosphere, if you've never had a Dixie Dog, you've been missing out on a delicious Texas icon and tradition!
I got the steak fingers plate w/ fried okra instead of french fries and i didnt want salad with my plate. Oh this is so good. Steak fingers are freshly cooked, crunchy, seasoned well and the fried okra is outstanding. We live in seminole, we called order and drove to pick it up at their drive thru and it was worth it. Chocolate milkshake was good too. My son got a kid menu steak fingers plate with waffle fries. Great experience, highly recommended. Easy 5 stars.
We stopped for something to drink on our way to Lubbock and were pleasantly surprised at our discovery. Hubster was hungry and ordered a simple corn dog to hold him over. He had also ordered a chocolate shake for himself and an unsweetened tea for me. The milkshake was the darkest brown I'd ever seen. It was rich, creamy and delicious. It had a deep chocolatey flavor, and not the typical fake syrupy sweet chocolate flavor of most shakes. Yummy deluxe to the nth degree! The corn dog took extra long, and it was obvious why when it arrived. The thing was ginormous! The corn batter breading was light and so good. I'm not a huge fan of corn dogs, but I have to say that was the best one I'd ever had. I'd actually go out of my way and stop there for another. Still trying to figure out how they kept the batter on it. It was a real work of fry cook artistry. My iced tea was equally good. No powdered tea mix at the "Dixie Dog". This tea was steeped and brewed to perfection. I'm not sure if COVID is the reason, but after hubby placed our order the carhop brought our order out to us. Old time service with a smile. If you're on your way to Lubbock on 385 and you're hungry I bet their other offerings will be just as tasty!
Super surprised with this little joint. It looks like an old school drive in but the food is home-made, made to order, favorites. Fresh made burgers with fresh veg, hand battered, real-steak, steak fingers, whole chicken breast sandwiches. This was not what we expected when we stopped in for a quick snack. As we were leaving, the girl behind the counter even asked if we wanted a free refill on our drinks. You just don't find places like this anymore.
